I am trying to prove parentage with paperwork to become a DAR member. George Winslow is my g-g-great grandfather. He was born 22 OCT 1811 in Benington, Vermont. According to an obit, he and his family made there way to NY when he was only a few years old. (Of course, no parents' names.) He married Sarah Sterling 4 Mar 1838 in NY. They had moved to Van Buran, MI before 1870 (census). He passed away 22 Nov 1888.

I have 2 obits from a family bible and a picture of his grave stone in Sheldon Cemetery in MI. Yet... no death certificate hs been found in the city, county or state of his demise. No birth records have been found in VT. I checked the Winslow Memorial and that branch of the family ends before him.

According to my research, his parents were Joseph Winslow (1788-1863) and Eunice Fulton (1785-1824). Can anyone give me the proof I need to file?? HELP!!
