Site Review - The Sprague Project

The Sprague project is an expansive project covering the Sprague family, alternate spellings of the name and related surnames. At the time of the review the genealogy database contains over 250,000 individuals and is continually growing. This project is an effort to consolidate all of the Sprague family research in one location to build a comprehensive view of the family. 

The site was first started in August 26, 1996 and continually revised and improved through the current date. The site was upgraded to a single TNG database in August 26, 2005 to support the goal of having one consolidated view of the family. Numerous contributors provide updates to continually expand the family history. There is even a list of contributors who are being sought for update information. 

History of the early Sprague settlers and their migration throughout the United States is covered in an interesting article with stunning painting included. There are predefined reports that let the visitor locate the family members who participated in any of the 13 wars in which the U.S. has been engaged. Additionally, several historical documents and photos of cemeteries and headstones can be found on the site.
